Site logo - REACH Zambia

REACH is an acronym for Reformed Evangelical Anglican Church of Zambia.

Our desire is to reach Zambia with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We want people to know Jesus more and to be more involved in making Jesus known.

Much of the Anglican Church worldwide has regrettably strayed away from the Reformation Evangelical stance it originally had in 1534. It is for this reason that in South Africa a new branch of the Anglican Church (REACH) was established in 1932. REACH-Southern Africa has congregations in South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Malawi, DR-Congo, and now also in Zambia.

REACH holds to the 39 Articles and uses the 1662 Prayer Book liturgy. REACH is also a member of GAFCON which is a global community of Anglican churches who have separated themselves from the compromise of the Anglican Communion.

REach-Zambia Churches

Currently (2024), REACH-Zambia only has one church – Christ Church Lusaka. The denomination in Zambia is very young and still growing. Christ Church Lusaka meets every Sunday at 09:00-11:00 at the Golden Peacock Hotel along Kasangula Road, Roma in the upstairs conference room.

Team

The team is still small, but growing.

Paul Kayumba is the rector at Christ Church Lusaka and Michael Watson is the assistant pastor. Renee Watson is heading up the kids ministry. Paul, Michael, and Renée are unpaid volunteers who are passionate about seeing the church grow.

Training

REACH-Zambia is passionate about growing leaders and training the next generation of pastors and Gospel proclaimers. By God’s grace and the generosity of His people, we have been able to send two students to GWC in January 2024. They will be away for three years as they study a 3-year bachelors degree in Theology.

We also have two students who are on a 3-year online training course in Kids & Youth ministry called Growing Young Disciples (GYD Academy). We thank God for providing resources to train our leaders.
